SHEVRIN JONES ANNOUNCES FREE COMMUNITY COVID-19 TEST SITE IN PEMBROKE PARK
West Park, Fla. – As confirmed COVID-19 cases continue to rise in Florida, State Rep. Shevrin Jones announced today a new community testing location in partnership with emergency management firm CDR Maguire, GENETWORx Lab, and Koinonia Worship Center and Village. The Pembroke Park site will offer free walk-up testing on both Wednesday, July 22 and Thursday, July 23 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with special senior only hours from 9:00 AM to 11:00AM each day. No appointments are needed to be tested.
“South Florida continues to bear the brunt of this public health crisis, and we must continue to take it seriously,” Rep. Jones said. “These types of innovative community partnerships will help reduce barriers for local residents, something especially important during this time of absent state and federal leadership.”
Hospitalizations and confirmed cases are spiking across the state, with nearly half of the state’s ICUs at 90 percent capacity and over 25,000 diagnoses in Broward County alone. As of Thursday, more than 4,000 Floridians have died from COVID-19.
On July 1, Rep. Jones tested positive and continues to chronicle his recovery daily on social media. Follow along HERE.
